My name is John Sakaluk. I am an incoming assistant professor in the University of Victoria’s Department of Psychology. Prior to accepting my position at the University of Victoria, I was a SSHRC postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto (Mississauga Campus), working in Dr. Emily Impett’s lab. I completed my doctoral work in Social Psychology program, minoring in Quantitative Psychology, while at the University of Kansas, where I studied under the supervision of Dr. Monica Biernat. Born in Normal, Illinois, I grew up in North Bay, Ontario, and attended the University of Guelph where I received an undergraduate degree in Psychology studying under the supervision of Dr. Robin Milhausen.
My scholarly interests involve the study of close relationships and human sexuality using social psychological theories, novel methods, and advanced statistics.
